Counseling Intern

Location: St. Paul, St. Anthony Park 

Meridian Behavioral Health LLC is a leader in behavioral health care and addiction recovery services, with a network of addiction treatment centers and acute psychiatric hospitals nationwide.  We are looking for an intern at our New Beginnings Outpatient program.

Opportunity for a student seeking 880-hour internship as part of an approved Alcohol and Drug Counseling program in an education institution preparing students to become Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors. 

  • The student will practice the 12 core functions of Alcohol and Drug Counseling in a hands-on experience at a high-intensity MICD residential treatment program.
  • The student will initially work in tandem with a full-time LADC and eventually complete 12 core function activities including but not limited to: comprehensive assessment, treatment planning, aftercare planning, consultation with other professionals, group and individual therapy and psychoeducation.
  • The individual in this role must demonstrate skills that benefit a therapeutic relationship including; good listening skills, compassionate, trustworthy, flexible and willing to learn.
  • Completion of the internship is a requirement to become an LADC through BBHT.
