What will I be doing?

The Associate is an integral member of the Growth Consulting practice of the Strategic Analytics team at IRI. Your primary role is to drive strategic growth consulting projects with top-tier Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Retail and Private Equity clients.

In this role, your focus will be to address the client's strategic business questions, develop tangible recommendations, and communicate implications to key stakeholders and leadership groups at IRI's key clients.

On a day-to-day basis, you will work closely with the Partners within the Growth Consulting team, and across the broader Strategic Analytics team, to develop strategic frameworks to address the client business questions, manage the project timeline/execution of the analysis by providing guidance to junior reports, and synthesize insights to develop recommendations for the clients.

Other Responsibilities/ Skills:

  • Interact with clients at multiple levels, build strong collaborative partnerships with key client stakeholders, and drive successful project delivery
  • Ability to apply a hypothesis driven problem-solving approach by leveraging knowledge of broader market trends, the client's business situation, and best practices learnings related to the strategic business issue
  • Lead analysts and provide direction in executing qualitative and quantitative research analyses to address key business questions as per the project timeline
  • Develop comfort in leveraging IRI's proprietary data (Point-of Sale scanner data, consumer panel, etc.), secondary research (industry reports, annual reports, etc.) and primary consumer research techniques (surveys, industry expert interviews etc.)
  • Create client presentations with key strategic findings and recommendations
  • Present to key client stakeholders and participate in discussions to drive adoption of recommendations within the client organization
  • Perform at a level of autonomy by taking on project management roles and client management responsibilities
  • Seek out and apply new learning opportunities to enhance institutional knowledge of the Strategic Analytics team
  • Demonstrate strong desire to develop business development skills to advance in career to being a Partner in the Growth Consulting practice at IRI

Key Qualifications:

  • Consulting experience and/ or strong CPG & Retail industry expertise
  • Strong problem-solving and project management skills
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in teams and with clients
  • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple competing tasks
  • Experience in guiding and mentoring analysts in teams
  • An MBA from a top-tier business school is a plus, but not required
