General Summary:

Supports IRI's business through quality delivery of insights and data for a top Retail client.

  • Role will develop targeted expertise against assigned area of support (Business divisions such as Grocery, Beauty, Health & Wellness...)
  • The objective of this role is to support Category Merchants and senior executives (Division leaders) with market and customer insights that can inform their business strategy and enable critical business decisions.
  • Works closely with the Category Merchant team to produce ad hoc reports and presentations that address business questions relating to the market and customer behavior within the CPG and Retail industry.
  • Coordinates, executes, analyzes, and presents findings from a variety of research projects purchased by the client; recommends potential action steps and additional research
  • Interact with clients at multiple levels, build strong collaborative partnerships with the client stakeholders, and drive successful project delivery
  • Able to apply a hypothesis driven problem-solving approach by leveraging knowledge of broader market trends, the client's business situation, and best practices learnings related to the strategic business issue
  • Develop comfort in leveraging IRI's proprietary data (Point-of Sale scanner data, consumer panel, etc.), and household purchase behavior analysis, surveys, audits, data modeling, in-market testing etc.
  • Present to key client stakeholders and participate in discussions to drive adoption of IRI solutions within the client organization
  • Identifies and develops new project opportunities with client contacts; writes proposals to gain new business.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Familiarity with the consumer-packaged goods industry, CPG retail, syndicated data, category management, market research are highly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytic/numeric fluency as demonstrated by quality output
  • Able to learn new analytical tools/solutions and continuously improve market & shopper analytical knowledge through self-serve learning modules and internal training resources
  • Ability to effectively work with virtual and diverse teams
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills as demonstrated by the ability to use the right approach and method to communicate with clients,
  • Professional presence, ability to understand and respond to another's point of view
  • Ability to escalate issues to the right people appropriately
  • Able to engage in consultative manner with clients when helping solve/manage content deliverables
  • Strong technical skills / aptitude required. Working knowledge of programming language software preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required

Work Requirements:

  • Ability to work on-site at the client as per client requirements
  • Ability to work remote as per client requirements
  • Weekend or off-hours work may be required

Type of Supervision Received:

Analyst typically have: General -Leader provides continuing or individual assignments by indicating generally what is to be done, limitations, quality and quantity expected, deadlines and priorities. Additional, specific instructions are given for new, difficult, or unusual assignments. The employee uses initiative in carrying out recurring assignments. The leader assures that the work is accurate and in compliance with IRI norms.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Analyst typically have: Individual Contributor- Does not have direct leadership responsibilities. May direct others working on a specific project or assignment.
