What will I be doing?

With direction from the Client Engagement Lead, primary responsibilities include supporting client usage of our tools, delivering insights to retail clients, and supporting the commercialization of our tools and services. Supporting the CPG sales process and commercialization, uncovering new CPG leads, and upselling existing CPG clients for a North American retailer engagement. Coaches retailer and CPG clients to access customer insights through the Advanced Insight Platform and advises on customer-centric actions. Provides thought leadership and consulting services to drive collaborative engagement between CPGs and the retailer's merchandising, marketing, and insight departments in support of both the CPG's business plans and the retailer's customer strategies.

This is a hybrid role that will require 3 days on-site at the retail client with the remainder of the week working remotely.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide thought leadership and consulting service on the effective use of customer data in a retail environment. Coach and train clients (CPG and/or Retailer Merchants) on how to apply customer data methodologies and analytic approaches to solve their key business issues.

  • Support ongoing collaboration between CPGs and retailers to address current and emerging business issues. Build relationships with assigned local CPG and merchant teams to uncover business issues and opportunities through client engagement plans.

  • Support commercial plans and revenue targets through the identification of new business, up-sell, and expansion opportunities. Help organize and manage the sales process including delivering capability demos as needed and identifying expansion opportunities.

  • Create and share best practices and quantify retailer and CPG ROI and be an effective advocate for our services including development of case studies and other vehicles to publicize our work. Represent the client voice in new product development and maintain an up to date knowledge of the industry.

Requirements

Background & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (business/marketing major preferred) or equivalent business experience with at least five years of work experience
  • Proven experience of driving sales growth through the development and execution of a strategic plan to achieve sales forecast
  • Work effectively through the sales cycle - from prospecting to retention - and can proactively identify opportunities
  • Experience in retail merchandising, category management or consumer insights
  • Experience working with analytics, developing, and presenting actionable insights
  • Effective demonstrator of software tools at retail or CPG user level
  • Proficient user of MS Office including PowerPoint and intermediate Excel
