The STUDY DIRECTOR/TOXICOLOGIST:

Assists, plans, design, and/or lead a team to conduct complex studies to generate high quality scientific results on behalf of Covance clients and play a key role in developing new strategies, techniques, and instrumentation for new ventures and critical issues in the area of specialty.

  • Serves as the scientific specialist for a toxicology specialty program.
  • Serves as a Study Director for studies, as described in the GLPs.
  • Has overall responsibility for the technical conduct of a study as well as for the interpretation, analysis, documentation, and reporting of results.

What we're looking for in you:

  • PhD, DVM, or equivalent degree.
  • 2-5 years experience in Toxicology.
  • DABT certification desirable.
  • Maintains current regulatory awareness (domestic and foreign).
  • Skilled in performing scientific presentations and preparing scientific publications.
  • Is recognized by research peers as an expert in a selected technical field.

Education/Qualifications:

PhD in toxicology or related field preferred, BSc or MSc or equivalent degree in toxicology or related field. Experience Relevant experience may be substituted for years of related experience.

Board certification in toxicology is desired.

Experience:
  • 3 to five years of safety assessment study direction experience and drug development experience
  • Highly skilled in conducting research, data interpretation, and writing reports.
  • Highly skilled in performing scientific presentation and preparing scientific publications
  • Knowledge and/or experience in drug development field.
