OperationsJob Summary:The Production Supervisor is responsible for directing the activities and personnel of a given shift in the Port Neal Urea No. 3 plant, ensuring that those activities are conducted in a safe, environmentally compliant, and cost-effective manner. This includes maximizing production and minimizing downtime while maintaining full EHS compliance.Job Description:Key Job Elements:

2. Responsible for the performance and development of a crew of Production Technicians.
3. Monitors plant operating conditions and takes necessary corrective actions to meet department objectives while adhering to established policies and procedures.
4. Develops and maintains effective relationships with Team Members and other departments to facilitate cooperation in meeting department objectives.
5. Maintains effective operational programs in safety, EHS compliance, personnel development, and asset utilization.
6. Directs and/or recommends necessary changes to plant processes, equipment, procedures, or staffing to meet department objectives.
7. Knows and understands production limits and works with Team Members to operate at those limits, producing ammonia in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining full EHS compliance.
8. Works closely and maintains good relationships with the Superintendent, Day Supervisor, and other Production Supervisors.
9. Acts on one's own initiative while coordinating actions with direction from the Day Supervisor, Production Superintendent, and/or Production Manager.
10. Develops and implements operational plans to safely and effectively execute maintenance activities, including turnarounds.
11. Participates in maintaining an effective and ongoing training and development program for Technicians to achieve the competence level required to meet present and future needs.
12. Responsible to qualify for, and act as, an Incident Commander for the Emergency Response Team.
13. Mobilizes quickly without acting impulsively, showing good judgment.
14. Works independently and under conditions of high interdependency.
15. All other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
1. Demonstrates positive safety leadership and safety culture. Works in a safe manner that promotes EHS goals of the plant and the company.
2. Effective leadership and people skills, along with time management and organizational skills.
3. Experience with chemical plant operation.
4. A positive attitude, with demonstrated willingness and ability to follow established policies and procedures.
5. Strong communication skills (written and verbal) required. Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with personnel of all backgrounds.
6. Physical capability, availability, willingness, and ability to work in a team environment.
7. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
8. Ability and willingness to work extended or modified work schedules as needed.
9. Experience using Microsoft Office, PI ProcessBook, and DeltaV software.
