Younker 8 is a 23 bed Medical Surgical unit that provides an enriching learning experience while caring for patients with a variety of diagnoses specializing in pulmonary conditions. As a Student Nurse Technician (SNT) in this care model, you will provide care for a specified group of patients. With the support of an RN and other team members of the care group, you will perform tasks or skills within your scope of practice, including but not limited to:

Clinical Excellence/Patient Care

Education:
| *Enrolled in a formal BSN or ADN nursing program to include completion of introductory clinical nursing course with clinical component.
*Team members within UPH-DM may remain in Student Nurse tech role for up to 6-months after passing the board and achieving RN license. |

Experience:
|
*Completion of 1 RN clinical rotation
| *Six months of nursing assistant experience |
License(s)/Certification(s):
| *Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. Must possess and maintain current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification or obtain certification within three months from date of hire. |

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
| *Ability to identify patients' needs and implement nursing care for a group of patients under the supervision of a RN/Clinical Instructor. *Writes, reads, comprehends, and speaks fluent English. *Multicultural sensitivity. *Microsoft Office - basic computer skills. *Customer/patient focused. *Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions. *Ability to use discretion and courtesy when working with patients, visitors, and staff. *Ability to prioritize simultaneous situations. |
