Central Life Sciences is searching for a Warehouse Supervisor in our Council Bluffs, IA location. This position oversees all warehouse operations in compliance with Central Garden & Pet and OSHA standards. Please see job details below for more information.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS
  • Demonstrate leadership by modeling safe behaviors and attitudes. Ensure all associates operate in a safe manner while following all safety programs.
  • Supervise compliance of shipping and receiving practices with established company policies and standards.
  • Drive productivity and quality metrics through performance and accountability.
  • Strategize labor hours to be used in the most efficient manner to achieve performance goals.
  • Verify accuracy and quality of inventory while maintaining levels established by business unit.
  • Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
  • Assign duties and assess work for accuracy and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for training, coaching and motivating employees.
  • Ability to wear multiple hats (Safety, Inventory, & Shipping) while taking sole responsibility for shipping operations.
  • Ability to work in and lead a team environment.
  • Maintain harmony among workers.
  • Safeguard company property and building security.
  • Self-starter with desire to learn and grow.
IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES
  • Bachelors degree in a distribution or related field.
  • 5 to 7 years plus of experience in warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment with 1-year of prior management experience.
  • Qualified to train and certify forklift and other material handling equipment operators.
  • Ability to learn statistical analysis to develop measurable warehouse metrics.
  • Working knowledge of RF receiving, replenishment procedures.
  • MS Word and Excel experience strongly preferred.
  • SAP experience a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Work is conducted primarily in a warehouse/office environment with adequate lighting and variable temperature levels.
  • There may be some variation in work hours due to additional shifts, special projects, deadlines, or other business initiatives.
