Overview

We're seeking an Enterprise Storage Administrator Sr to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for delivery of services required to install, configure, monitor, support and manage the enterprise storage and backup and recovery systems.

Location: This position is open to remote/work from home with strong preference for candidates residing within the UPH geographies of Iowa, Illinois, & Wisconsin.

Hours: Monday-Friday, Days, On Call Rotation Required.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

  • Provides daily administration of the enterprise storage and backup and recovery environments including storage admin, software & hardware support, device configuration & monitoring, troubleshooting and performance tuning.
  • Designs, configures and troubleshoots Brocade switch fabric environment.
  • Monitor, analyze and predict trends for storage and backup equipment performance, space allocation, and data growth to recommend enhancements and growth.
  • Reviews system back-up methodology to ensure consistency across all platforms, and compliance with Information Technology documented SOP's.
  • Works incident tickets including problem isolation, analysis, and root cause.
  • Responsible for defining, executing and administering security procedures which protect applicable data for the enterprise storage and backup systems.
  • Collaborate with other Subject Matter Experts including but not limited to Virtualization, Networking, Security, Cloud Services, etc.
  • Provides training and technical guidance to Associate and Storage Administrators including recommending training plans for non-senior staff.
  • Act as a project lead in the design and review of new storage and backup and recovery systems.
  • Demonstrates an ability to coordinate and manage large, complex projects and be able to negotiate and build consensus among groups or individuals with diverse interests and function effectively as a team leader in a team environment.

Qualifications

What You'll Need:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or Information Systems required. Equivalent education and work experience will be accepted only if previous experience applies to specific systems.

Experience:

  • Minimum of four years' experience in storage / backup administration is required.
  • Healthcare experience is preferred.
  • Experience in Windows, AIX and Linux Operating Systems preferred.

License(s) Certification(s):

  • Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • NetApp, Isilon (PowerScale), Pure Storage, Brocade, Avamar Data Domain (PPDM), and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to work as a team member, creating and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Works independently under general supervision, takes initiative, keen attention to detail and possesses good organizational skills.
  • Requires highly developed communication skills to effectively work with all levels of management throughout the UnityPoint Health, its subsidiaries and affiliates.
  • Aptitude for problem solving independently.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs independently, such as servers and storage hardware.
