Performs maintenance of the facility in support of our customer requirements. The position is fast paced and evolves as projects are created and prioritized. Work will be performed both individually and with the team.
Principle Activities:
Lead small facility projects maintaining cost, time, and quality expectations
Support the department goals in preventative maintenance, documentation, electronic system use, continuous improvement and document creation
Process work requests that come into the department in a timely manner
Perform maintenance tasks including three phase electrical to 480 Volts, plumbing, mechanical, minor HVAC, painting, sheet rock and office moves
Assist other technicians helping them to be successful
Be an active supporter in the Sypris safety and environmental program and observe all company safety policies
Assist in maintaining a spare parts inventory
Take ownership of the presentation and cleanliness of the shop
Order parts as necessary to meet goals
Must be willing to be trained in basic chemical handling
Be an active member of the Emergency Response Team
Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
Technical school and two or more years of experience in similar role preferred or four additional years of experience in place of Technical School
Must be willing to learn CAD software to create and change drawings
Ability to obtain and maintain Hazwoper certification within 6 months of start
Have working knowledge of RO water systems, compressors, nitrogen, steam, generators and exhaust systems
Be available to work flexible work hours; split shift hours; and be on call in support of shipping goals
Must be able to work overtime when necessary
Stay current with new methods, techniques and processes in support of the facilities growth
Operate with a continuous improvement mindset
Good oral and written communication skills at all levels of the organization and with outside contacts
Requires a mixture of standing, walking, squatting, climbing, and sitting both inside and outside
Occasional lifting and moving of material and fixtures over 25 pounds and up to 60 pounds; infrequent movement of equipment with casters in excess of 100 pounds
