The University of Iowa School of Art and Art History seeks applications for a 50% Visiting Assistant Professor for the 2024-25 academic year. The position receives full benefits. The successful candidate will teach two courses of Basic Drawing per semester in The University of IowaSchool of Art & Art History,Studio Art Division.



Salary is $26,616.

Education Requirement:

  • MFA in painting/drawing or equivalent combination of education and experience in hand by start date.

Required Qualifications:

  • University level teaching experience or past experience in painting & drawing curriculum at basic and/or foundational level

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Understanding of a variety of conceptual approaches in the teaching of painting/drawing

  • Proficiency in critical theory.
