Job Description

At DMU you will make a meaningful contribution to the dynamic future of Medicine and Health Sciences. DMU is seeking a PA or ARNP who is responsible for patient care in the University Health Clinic (UHC), providing primary care to the student and employee populations of Des Moines University. This role will also support the university's clinical programs by helping ensure students meet the health requirements of the university and their affiliated clinical partners.

What you'll do:

  • Maintain a clinical practice providing primary care to a wide range of patients.
  • Direct the care provided by assigned support personnel to ensure safe and therapeutic patient care.
  • Assist with ensuring students are compliant with clinical requirements.
  • Provide medical clearance for respirator use.
  • Document patient care within policy guidelines to facilitate care and communication with other healthcare professionals. This includes complying with medical record and billing regulations and standards.

What we're looking for:

  • At least three years of clinical experience as a PA or ARNP, including a minimum of two years in family practice or primary care with family planning and implantable contraceptive device experience preferred.
  • Current licensure as a physician assistant or advanced registered nurse practitioner within the State of Iowa.
  • Current DEA and CSA certification or ability to attain.
  • Current BLS certification and Mandatory Reporter certification or the ability to attain within one month of hire.
