Leads meetings and collaborates with Corporate and Branch teams along with technology partners on moderately complex projects to elicit, analyze, translate, and document business requirements to develop a vision of the final product. Observes and interviews subject matter experts (SMEs) to document responsibilities and job processes. Works closely with the business stakeholders and delivery team to ensure all identified scenarios are properly tested and defects are resolved. Researches, analyses, elicits, designs value-based solutions, and deploys changes through collaboration with business and IT teams. Builds and support relationships with stakeholders, Corporate Office Underwriting, Information Technology, Actuary, and branch underwriting team.

Essential Functions:

  • Leads meetings with business and technology partners on moderately complex to complex projects to elicit, analyze, translate, improve, and document business requirements to develop a vision of the final product from ISO, NCCI, AAIS, regulatory updates, and branch and corporate office teams.
  • Observes and interviews subject matter experts (SMEs) to document responsibilities and job processes
  • Analyzes information and creates visualization aids using analysis tools such as workflows, flow charts, and Gantt charts to establish context and create shared understanding
  • Assists with the implementation plan, including helping to create training plans and materials, and helping conduct any necessary training
  • Serves as first point of contact for users seeking assistance with policy administration systems
  • Assists and performs troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions and determines the best solution based on the issue and details provided by the user
  • Assists and performs user-acceptance testing and training tasks as needed
  • Collaborates closely with the business stakeholders and delivery team to ensure all identified scenarios are properly tested and defects are resolved
  • Collaborates and connects with SMEs and stakeholders to identify gaps and enhancements and proposes creative solutions to solve business problems and improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting needs
  • Participates in inter-team communication to ensure initiatives meet their intended outcomes, both throughout the initiative and after implementation

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in insurance, business, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Two years of experience in business analysis, process management, or agile development or related experience
  • Prior experience with software development lifecycles (SDLC), including Agile and Waterfall preferred
  • Professional certifications, such as Associate in General Insurance (AINS) or CPCU preferred
  • Completion of Guidewire Business Analyst certification within 6 months in role
  • Prior experience in property/casualty insurance, including underwriting, rating, or process management, or related experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Good knowledge of property and casualty insurance coverage options and terminology preferred
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and changing business requirements and priorities
  • Good meeting facilitation skills using best practices
  • Good knowledge of business analysis and the applicable tools/deliverables
  • Good skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Good knowledge of process mapping tools such as Lucid Charts, Visio
  • Good knowledge of technical concepts such as client-server, Web applications and/or Cloud Architecture preferred
  • Ability to deal with conflict, and propose solutions for resolution
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and organization skills
  • Experience with JIRA preferred
  • Good customer service skills, and good written and verbal communication skills
  • Occasional travel required; a valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle report per company standards required if driving

Per the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the hiring range for this position for Colorado-based team members is $67,000 - $87,000. The hiring range for other locations may vary.
