Position Description

Plan and perform all required operations to inspect a wide range of tools, component parts and assemblies.Demonstrate efficiency in use of coordinate measuring machine to completely check all permanent dimensions to exacting specifications and tolerances. Understand basic programming and demonstrate ability to program without assistance. Able to investigate and determine cause of quality concerns and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. . Develop inspection procedure for new parts and products. Perform gauge certification on each type of inspection gauge and update system to ensure accuracy. Make all mathematical calculations for set-up of inter-related planes, angles, circles and other geometric figures. Demonstrate an understanding with an ability to communicate geometric tolerancing. Maintain necessary records. Move materials as necessary in the performance of duties. Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to proper supervision. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Follow prescribed safety rules and standards. Perform other duties as required or directed.
