Job Description:

The intern is accountable for providing all administrative support for the Marketing and Communications Manager and would include the following work opportunities:

Potential to develop and maintain databases of information and processes for completion of marketing projects.; Write, design and coordinate placement and publishing of ads, media announcements, marketing materials and publications; With direction from manager, develop designs and coordinate new brochures and material for clinical departments and/or refine existing materials, including physician directory; With direction from manager, plan, promote and coordinate the clinic's community event of Steele County Relay for Life on July 20-21. The internship will require on-site activity at the Relay for Life location; Coordinate meeting schedules, responsible for minutes and facilitate meetings as requested; With direction from manager, plan, promote and coordinate the clinic's community event of Steele County Free Fair; including developing an event team, generating a theme, designing and coordinating a volunteer staffing schedule for the entire Steele County Fair. On-site activity responsibilities are required; Coordinate the June, July and August Owatonna Today Show featured guests and commercial; Other duties as assigned and appropriate for skill level. The intern reports to the Marketing and Communications Manager. This person will have contact with internal and external sources.

Work hours will vary based on marketing, community engagement and communications activity. Hours are based on a typical work week, 8:00 - 5:00; however the role will include weekend and evening hours. The 40 hour work week will flex.
The internship is June 20120-August 2012. The start date is flexible, with the end date of August 23 or 24.


Basic Qualifications:

Skill in designing and developing publications; Skill in writing and editing techniques
Skill in interpersonal, problem-solving and decision-making competencies; Knowledge of publication concepts, including graphic design, layout, printing specifications and desktop publishing; Knowledge of copywriting, editing and other written and verbal communication concepts; Ability to develop creative, attractive designs and presentations using desktop publishing and other graphics equipment and software; Ability to work effectively with printers and other vendors to produce materials on time, to specification and within budget; Ability to coordinate and complete several tasks simultaneously; Other skills as appropriate to skill level.
